Heavenly Father,
We come before You today not simply because it is Sunday, not simply out of habit or obligation — but because we were made for this. Worship is not something we do alongside our lives — it is the very heartbeat of why we exist. Before the foundations of the earth were laid, You purposed a people who would glorify Your name and reflect Your glory back to You. We were made to worship — and today, Lord, we gladly take our place in that eternal calling.
Your Word declares that "God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth" (John 4:24). Strip away everything that is performance, everything that is routine, and everything that is hollow in our worship today. Let what rises from our hearts be genuine and real — a worship born not from what we want from You, but from who You are. You are holy, worthy, and altogether glorious. That alone is reason enough.
Father, forgive us for the times we have allowed worship to become a transaction rather than a transformation. Your Word reminds us that "a day in Your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere" (Psalm 84:10). Recalibrate our hearts, Lord. Remind us that we do not come to worship to get something — we come because You deserve everything.
Lord, all of creation lifts its voice to You. The heavens declare Your glory and the skies proclaim the work of Your hands (Psalm 19:1). The mountains burst into song and the trees of the field clap their hands (Isaiah 55:12). If creation cannot contain its praise, how much more should we — Your image bearers, recipients of Your grace, children of Your household — pour out our worship without reservation. "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord" (Psalm 150:6). We have breath, Lord. We will use it for Your glory.
