Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with eyes that so often miss what You are doing right in front of us. We have grown accustomed to looking for Your blessings in the expected places — in the comfortable, the convenient, and the carefully planned. And yet You are a God who delights in surprising us. A God who speaks through burning bushes, feeds thousands with a child's lunch, and brings life out of an empty tomb. Open our eyes today, Lord, to see You in the places we least expect.
Forgive us for the times we have overlooked Your goodness because it did not arrive in the package we anticipated. We have waited for the dramatic while missing the profound in the ordinary. Your Word reminds us that "this is the day the Lord has made" — and we are called to "rejoice and be glad in it" (Psalm 118:24). Teach us to unwrap each day as the gift that it is.
Lord, You have always worked in unexpected ways — choosing a shepherd boy to slay a giant (1 Samuel 16:11–13), speaking through a burning bush (Exodus 3:2–4), revealing Your risen glory first to a grieving woman in a garden (John 20:11–16). You have never been confined to our expectations. Your ways are higher than our ways and Your thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:9).
