Embroidery: a 6-inch wooden hoop, pre-printed fabric, all the floss, a needle and printed instructions with a link to the videos. Diamond art: a printed adhesive canvas, every colour of diamond, the applicator pen, wax and tray, and a wooden frame. Punch needling: pre-printed cloth on a frame, chunky yarn in every colour, the punch needle and a threading guide. Scissors are the only thing you supply.

Diamond art. Many customers finish a kit in one or two sittings and it comes with its frame, so it goes straight onto a shelf. Punch needling usually takes an afternoon or two. Embroidery is the slow, relaxing one, spread over a few evenings.

Diamond art is the easiest for children and for a women’s ministry or craft night, since there is nothing sharp and no counting. Punch needling is a close second. Embroidery suits older kids and adults who want a longer project.
