In Memory of The Fallen
Heavenly Father, on this Memorial Day, we bow our heads with heavy hearts and profound gratitude to honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We thank You for the selfless courage of those who walked into the shadow of death so that we might live in a safe and free county. Your Word reminds us that "greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends" (John 15:13), and today we remember the ultimate sacrifice made by so many for the sake of our freedom.
We lift up the families and loved ones left behind, those who carry the weight of loss every day. We pray that You would be their refuge and strength, a "very present help in trouble" (Psalm 46:1). Surround them with Your supernatural comfort and let them feel the honor and respect of a grateful nation. Lord, we ask that You would teach us to never take our liberty for granted, but to use it to serve You and one another in love.
May the memory of the fallen inspire us to be peacemakers and to seek justice in a broken world. We pray for the day when "nation will not take up sword against nation" (Isaiah 2:4) and Your kingdom of peace will reign supreme. Until then, keep us mindful of the cost of our peace and faithful to the legacy of those who stood in the gap for us. We commit this day of remembrance to You, asking that You would bless this land and guide us in the ways of righteousness.
