A Prayer For Our Children

Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with full and grateful hearts, lifting up the precious children in our lives — our sons and daughters, our grandchildren, the children of our communities, and every young life that You have knit together with purpose and intention. Before they were born, You knew them. Before they drew their first breath, You loved them. And we trust them now into Your faithful and capable hands.

Lord, Your Word tells us to "train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6). Give us the wisdom, patience, and grace to guide them well. May our homes be places where Your truth is spoken, Your love is modeled, and Your presence is welcomed. Let our children grow up knowing that they are deeply seen, deeply valued, and deeply loved — by us and by You.

We pray a hedge of protection around every child. Guard their minds from the lies of this world that whisper they are not enough, not worthy, or not loved. Shield them from harm, and when the storms of life come — as they surely will — remind them that You are "a refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble" (Psalm 46:1). Root them so deeply in Your love that they cannot be easily shaken.

Holy Spirit, draw our children close to the heart of Jesus from their earliest days. May they hunger for Your Word and delight in Your presence. Raise them up to be young men and women of courage, integrity, and compassion — children who, like Daniel, purpose in their hearts to honor You regardless of the culture around them.

Father, for the children who are hurting, neglected, or afraid today — we ask that You wrap Your arms around them in a way that only You can. Let them know they are not forgotten, for You have said, "I will not leave you as orphans" (John 14:18).

We dedicate our children to You, Lord — every hope, every dream, every future. They are Yours.

In the loving and faithful name of Jesus,
Amen.
