Jesus Will Always Fulfill You- Self Care Won't

This post might be controversial...but hear me out!

I was chatting with two of my sweet friends yesterday about marriage and motherhood and this last year...and the conversation turned to making sure we were taking care of ourselves and we had such a good conversation about self care.

LOVE taking bubble baths and reading and the basic "self care" activities as much as anyone. And sometimes they DO refresh me!

But the other night, I had a little bit of time to myself. I started watching a fairly mindless show...but I felt this tugging in my spirit to sit outside, listen to worship music, read the word and doodle.

I was *so much* more refreshed after 30 minutes than I ever have been after doing any of the other "self care" activities.

Why?

As my friend so eloquently put it last night, we can only find TRUE rest in Jesus. And that only happens by spending time with Him.

How?

1. Pray
2. Read His Word
3. Worship Him

Spending time with Jesus is the ultimate self care- and the only thing that will really give us rest.

What a gem of wisdom you possess, Brenna! If more young and senior people like myself discovered the peace the Lord fills us with when we sit and share our time with Him, this would be a happier world. ❤️

This is such a beautiful read❤️ I am so blessed to have a beautiful little lake nestled among trees that I go to just to be with Jesus. It is SO FULL of His presence. I like to read, worship, and pray but sometimes I just sit quietly❤️ SO MUCH has come from just giving Him that quiet time when I say, here I am and I’m all yours! You are so right! Thank you for beautiful words & beautiful shirts!!!
