Jesus Will Always Fulfill You- Self Care Won't

This post might be controversial...but hear me out!

I was chatting with two of my sweet friends yesterday about marriage and motherhood and this last year...and the conversation turned to making sure we were taking care of ourselves and we had such a good conversation about self care.

LOVE taking bubble baths and reading and the basic "self care" activities as much as anyone. And sometimes they DO refresh me!

But the other night, I had a little bit of time to myself. I started watching a fairly mindless show...but I felt this tugging in my spirit to sit outside, listen to worship music, read the word and doodle.

I was *so much* more refreshed after 30 minutes than I ever have been after doing any of the other "self care" activities.

Why?

As my friend so eloquently put it last night, we can only find TRUE rest in Jesus. And that only happens by spending time with Him.

How?

1. Pray
2. Read His Word
3. Worship Him

Spending time with Jesus is the ultimate self care- and the only thing that will really give us rest.

Love this shirt so much I have it in 2 colors lol. Wearing your shirts is a great way to evangelize. Pretty soon all my shirts will be Religious. I think you need to do one about The Mother of God. I’m sure it would sell

Yes, so true. I have learned the need to be still and know that He is God.

This is so true and I didn’t even need to “hear you out!” God made us, He fashioned us with His own hands, therefore, He is the only one that can fill the empty places we have. If all the self-help stuff was meant to satisfy us then we’d have no need for Him. More of Him and less of me.
