Love & Belonging

God's Unfailing Love

Heavenly Father,

We come before You today overwhelmed by a love we did not earn, could never deserve, and will never fully comprehend — and yet it is ours. Freely and fully given. Your love is not measured by our performance or diminished by our failures. It is boundless, relentless, and everlasting. With the psalmist we cry out this morning, "Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You" (Psalm 143:8). Speak that word over every heart today, Lord.

There is simply nothing like Your love. It reaches where no human love can follow — into our darkest moments, our deepest shame, our most hidden places. Nothing in all creation "will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" — not death nor life, not the present nor the future (Romans 8:38–39). What an unshakeable foundation. Let that truth be the ground beneath our feet today.

Father, remind us of just how wide and deep this love truly is. Paul prayed that we would have power "to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge" (Ephesians 3:17–19). It surpasses knowledge, Lord — and yet You invite us to experience it. To wade into it. To be completely undone by it. Do that work in us today.

Lord, Your love was not merely spoken — it was demonstrated at the greatest possible cost. "While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). Not when we had cleaned ourselves up or earned it. While we were still far off, You ran toward us. That is the love that changes everything.

May those who feel unworthy of love hear Your voice above every other. "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness" (Jeremiah 31:3). Your love has no beginning we can trace and no end we can find. It simply is — as constant as You are, as faithful as Your name.

Let this boundless love produce in us a response worthy of the gift — loving You with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30), and pouring freely into the lives of those around us. For "we love because You first loved us" (1 John 4:19). Every morning is a fresh reminder of Your faithfulness. Let the morning bring us word of Your unfailing love, Lord — and let it carry us through every hour of every day.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
