Psalms for the Weary - Day 2: Psalm 121

Day 2: Psalm 121

1   I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from?

2
My help comes from the Lordthe Maker of heaven and earth.

3
He will not let your foot slip—He who watches over you will not slumber;

4
Indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

5   The Lord watches over you—the Lord is your shade at your right hand;

6
The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

7
The Lord will keep you from all harm—He will watch over your life;

8
The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Did you catch that?

"My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth."
The One who made everything our eyes can and cannot see here on earth and beyond - made US...and not only made us, but wants the most intimate relationship with us. What?! How incredible is that! I don't know about you, but this Psalm is exactly what my heart needed. So comforting.

A few things to remember -
1) God is awake.
    So...go to sleep! He's watching over us and never slumbers.
2) He never leaves.
    He's by our side in the day and the night and forevermore. Take comfort that even if we're alone in a room, He still sees us, hears us, and hurts with us.
3) When bad things happen, we will still be taken care of.
    This can be a hard concept to grasp, especially when the world around us is crumbling. Just remember - the hurt is temporary. There will be a day when we live in ultimate peace, and there will be no more pain. We must cling to the hope of Jesus and share His love as much as we can during our time here.

As you go about your day, just know -
You are not forgotten.
You are loved.
You are held.

    During these times of chaos and quarantine, it is very comforting to direct our focus to the Lord and know that He is with us. In fact, I can’t fathom how anyone can exist without faith in the Goodness of the Lord, and His constant availability to nail us out. Thank you for providing us with this daily food for thought❣️

    Thank you for this study. It is such a comfort knowing God is always with us and is on His throne. He is in control!
