Do your words REALLY impact others?

"it just seems like your heart isn't in the business anymore and that's really sad"

Someone said that to me the other day...to be honest, it was probably one of the meanest and most hurtful things someone has ever said to me.

After I allowed it (because yep- I could have just blown it off) to steal my joy for over a week, sink deep into my spirit and cause some serious self doubt and negative feelings...

I started thinking about how many times I could have said something in the heat of the moment that really negatively impacted someone else. Things I don't even remember saying.

Every time I'm tempted to say something rude that I can't take back, I'm going to be reminded of what this person said to me- and I'll also be reminded of what Proverbs 15 says.

"A gentle answer turns away anger, but a harsh word stirs up wrath." - Proverbs 15:1

When you say something kind, or encourage someone- watch the way they light up! It only takes a few words to completely make someone's day.

"I appreciate you"
"Thank you so much for ...."
"This verse/song/saying made me think of you because ...."
"I really appreciate that you......."

"Kind words are like honey—sweet to the soul and healthy for the body." - Proverbs 16:24

"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing." - 1 Thessalonians 5:11
