4 Verses to Read When You're Discouraged
Have you ever had one of those days where you're just down?
Maybe things that are out of your control keep happening and you don't understand why!
A few days ago, I was really struggling. So I started saying verses to myself...verses that helped calm me down and give me peace.
If you memorize scripture, you will have it right when you need it!
1. "Be still and know (recognize, understand) that I am God.I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth." - Psalm 46:10
He is God! He knows what's best for you, and He knows what is going to happen before you do.
2. "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me." - Psalm 23:4
The 23rd Psalm is one of my favorites in scripture, but this verse in particular stands out to me. Even when we are in the darkest of dark places, the Lord won't abandon us.
3. "The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." - Deuteronomy 31:8
This is what I say to myself over and over when I'm afraid. I get it! Sometimes situations seem hopeless and you wonder when they will ever get better. But, God is with you every step of the way.
4. "The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing." - Zephaniah 3:17
A friend introduced me to this verse, and I say it over and over to myself. The Lord rejoices over me...ME! He cares for each of us individually. That's so encouraging to me!
