4 Verses For When You’re Frustrated

Frustration is something that we all experience. It may be directed at family members, situations or even God in those seasons of doubt.

In a bible study I attended recently we were discussing that God has given us Scripture to empower us, build us up, encourage us, and teach us in those hard times.

How often do we forget that our bibles are not just something we read to check off of our list but a practice that benefits us to the core. Reading the Living Word of God does more for us than we often realize.

Here are a few scriptures I hope will be helpful when your feeling frustrated:

  1. Ephesians 4:32- Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
  2. James 1:20- For the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God
  3. Philippians 4:7- Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God
  4. Colossians 3:2- Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth

I even had a pastor once that would replace “man” for his own name in the verse in James above- ‘the anger of Nicole does not produce the righteousness of God’. It is such a practical practice in the moment.

Sometimes we just need a minute to let the truth of God renew our minds (Romans 12:2), get into our hearts and change our perspective. I encourage you to spend a moment reading these verses and maybe even committing them to memory for a moment where you need to remind yourself of that truth.
